On behalf of the women of the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay (JLOEB), thank you for visiting our website. I am honored to lead this extraordinary community of women.

Junior League of Oakland-East Bay was founded in 1935 and is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is part of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI). If the words “Junior League” sound old-fashioned-think again. We are a modern, dynamic, intergenerational group of approximately 300 women dedicated to personal growth and making a difference in our local communities. Our active membership is a diverse and inclusive community of women from all stages of life and various backgrounds united by a shared mission: to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

Leadership development and training is woven into everything we do, and JLOEB equips individuals with the skills, confidence, and networks to shape and create change through experiential learning and sharing. Many of our members serve in leadership positions overseeing committees like our fund development team that organizes our Touch a Truck event or our ad hoc group that selects our Community Enrichment Fund (CEF) grant awardees.

Our work focuses on assisting agencies that support women and children in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Our community work goes beyond just financial support and is grounded in strong collaboration with community partners. Last year, our members dedicated over 500 volunteer hours to various community organizations. If you are a community member or organization looking for assistance with creative solutions, hands-on project implementation or reciprocal training, we would love to partner with you.

Finally, JLOEB is dedicated to helping women thrive. We are dedicated to nurturing a feeling of connection and affiliation. This is a group in which friendships are made and cultivated, and every woman is encouraged to be her authentic and amazing self.
