The Junior League of Oakland-East Bay (JLOEB) has been serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties since 1935. We are an organization of women on a mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Become a Driving Force of Change Within Your Community
Each year, JLOEB trains first-year members (called New Members or Provisional Members) to be effective volunteers and leaders in our community. Our League Year runs from September through May, and during that time New Members will learn about the League’s structure and programs through volunteering and hands-on training opportunities.
Our recruitment season is June—September. If you’re interested in joining us, please fill out the New Member Registration form (link below) so we have your information on file. We’re looking forward to meeting you this summer!

Junior League of Oakland-East Bay Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be 21 years old by June 1 of your application year to be eligible for membership.
- No member sponsorship is required, just a commitment to serving the East Bay community and a desire to develop personal and professional skills.
Who Belongs to JLOEB?
The most common characteristic shared by members is that they are women committed to contributing to their communities. JLOEB membership is about 300 members strong and we represent women from all ages and backgrounds. Members reside throughout the East Bay with the majority in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. You belong at JLOEB.
